Comprehensive curriculum

For Aquaculture education in Asian and beyond

In the academic front, the major outcome is the comprehensive curriculum that will build a strong cadre of aquaculture managers and policy makers with the knowledge, tools and skills to design and implement sustainable aquaculture programmes for countries in the Asian region and beyond.

The broad outcomes from the research programs are:

  • A dedicated research and development team – a dedicated team of technical researchers and business personnel working on sustainable innovations in aquaculture relevant to Thailand and elsewhere in Asia.
  • Strengthened farmer clusters in Thailand – initially the proposed Lampang (giant prawn) and Nakhon Nayok (black tiger prawn) projects of Thai Farmers Council serve as outlets of promoting sustainable aquaculture technologies among several other farmer clusters.
  • Farmer consulted and consented research outputs – the consortium will work cohesively with various farmer groups, corporate, cooperatives, and the Government to find solutions for the emerging industry challenges.
  • An innovative research platform: A research platform of the highest international standards and scientific quality as prototype for testing and validating sustainable aquaculture technologies relevant for Asia.
  • Optimization of innovative technologies: Novel aquamimicry farming technologies and water-less packing and transportation protocols developed, refined and optimized.
  • Win-Win research collaborations: Strategic partnerships with international aquaculture research institutions and universities for better collaboration and networking.
