ONE-YEAR MASTERS AND PROFESSIONAL DEGREE PROGRAMS@AIT

In the past decade, there has been a considerable increase globally in master's programs that are offered in an accelerated period of time so that they can be completed within one year. The main benefits of such programs are thatstudentsstudy intensively for only half the time than regular master's students who follow a more traditional degree program.

SAVE TIME

  • Professional Master's program is particularly attractive for working professionals who want to update their knowledge and skills in recent technological and business advances.
  • A one-year master's degree is attractive for recent graduates who would like a master's degree to strengthen their CV/resume as soon as possible to give them a competitive edge when applying for work.

RETURN TO WORK/ENTER THE JOB MARKET EARLIER THAN COMPETITORS

  • Reducing the time required to earn a master's degree allows graduates to re-enter the job market twelve months earlier than those who complete a graduate degree that follows a traditional two-year format. This gives one-year degree candidates a jump start on the competition who will complete their degree in two years.

SAVE MONEY

  • Reducing the time required to earn a degree reduces the costs associated with the degree.

OBTAIN THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE SIMILAR TO REGULAR/TRADITIONAL MASTERS PROGRAMS, BUT MORE INTENSIVELY

  • At AIT, students taking the accelerated option, sit in the same classes as those taking two years programs.
  • The main difference betweena two-year and one-year master's is that the former includes 22 -credits of thesis research, and the latter requires only a6-credits research study to complete the degree.

Note: For those who might want to complete a PhD in the future, completing a 22-credit thesis research is highly recommended.
